So, you’ve finally decided to take the plunge and quit smoking and try vaping! (Mainly because you’ve seen every person and their dogs in the pubs sucking on highlighters and thought, what the heck). But props to you for doing so. Maybe you’ve been on the old geekbars/other disposable vape’s for a while now and you’re ready for something that you don’t have to replace every other day! The absolute beauty of the disposables is their taste, and because they are used up in such a short period, manufacturers are able to include incredibly sweet (and bloody tasty) Nic Salts that hit the spot.
We get it, disposables are so easy to use. BUT, they’re really not very good for the environment and it will be costing you a pretty penny compared to buying bottles of Nic salts with a refillable starter kit. Let’s do a cheeky little breakdown of the comparison in cost:
Now obviously people use up Geekbars, or their relevant disposables in different timeframes. So i’ve just gone for what we think is there average; 1 lasting 2 days.
1 x Geekbar / Disposable every other day = 3.5 a week
2 x 10ml nic Salt a week = £4 (normally they are cheaper than £4 but for the sake of ease we’ll say £4) I’ve also said 2 bottles of 10ml Nic salt a week, but I think you’d be more likely do only finish one if a disposable lasts you 2 days.
3 x coils a month (Again, this is probably worst case) – £7.50
£64.50 first month (remember, this includes cost of kit)
£39.50 second month and so on
So as you can see, there is a pretty decent saving when swapping to a starter kit. And for me, that makes it worthwhile just from that. But let’s take a dive into some pro’s and con’s of both Geekbars and friends VS real vape kits.
Geekbars and other Disposable Vape kits Pro’s:
Doesn’t matter if you lose one, you’ve got a spare at home
Great Taste
Geekbars and other Disposable Kits
Refillable Vape kits
Advantages:
Doesn’t matter if you lose one, you’ve got a spare at home
Great taste (most of the time better than Refillable kits)
Have to refill yourself (but also means you can change liquids/flavours easily)
More expensive initially but still cheaper across first month
So, what shall I vape after the Geekvape Geekbar?
It’s time to leave the flavoured highlighters behind. Moving on to a starter kit will save you money, and help not clog up landfills. The tie to Disposable vapes is their sweet sweet taste; so we need to recommend you something that is as good.
We know, it feels like we’re doing some serious brown nosing for Uwell here (and there are unfortunately no notes being handed to me under the desk here, but Uwell if you’re reading this hit me up). Uwell have stormed the market with some awesome kits, and it’s all down to their fantastic coils. You’ll be tasting every note of flavour in your Nic salts (so long as you’re not buying the 99p ones from your local B&M).
And now Liquids / Nic Salts:
You’ll want to match the same Nicotine mg as you’re vaping in the disposable you’ve bought. After some time you can gradually reduce this (another benefit of moving away from disposable’s) and then put a halt to your nicotine dependance once and for all!
Aisu 20mg – these Nic salts truly have a place in my heart. Super good quality and some seriously decent flavours.
For those who may be thinking “they’re just trying to get you to spend more money and buy a proper kit” – look we get it. Short term, disposables are easier, cheaper and overall probably more convenient. But if we were just in this to grab as much cash as we could off you guys, we’d tell you to stick on the disposables for as long as possible. They’ve helped countless amount of people quit smoking and that is where the disposable is truly fantastic. But moving towards a normal, refillable starter kit will allow you to save money in the long term, reduce your nicotine intake and eventually hang up the vaping boots forever.
