The Elf Bar Elfa has been revamped and improved. Introducing the Elfa Pro with new coil technology and e-liquid window viewing in the pod. The original Elfa is a popular inbetween for those using disposables but finding them expensive and those that use refillable devices. We took the Elfa Pro for a spin in a desperate hope to find out whether this really is the answer.
Elf Bar Elfa Pro Key Features & Specifications
The Elfa Pro is extremely similar to the original Elf Bar Elfa, with one major change – the coil. It uses Elf Bar’s new QUAQ coil technology, which delivers more consistent flavour throughout. More on that later. Powered by a 500mAh built-in battery, the Elfa Pro will produce similar vapour to a disposable and is a mouth-to-lung (MTL) device. In simple terms, it vapes like you’d smoke a cigarette. The Elfa Pro is a closed pod device meaning you can swap pods in and out but you can’t refill them. The pods are pre-filled with 2ml of e-liquid in a 20mg nicotine strength, the same as a regular Elf Bar.
As standard, the Elfa Pro comes with one pod that already has its flavour in the box. It’s a strange setup, because although you might want to buy a certain colour, if you do you are stuck with the corresponding flavour (found below).
Specifications:
500mAh built-in battery
Rechargeable device
Pod system vape kit
Mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping style
20mg Nicotine
Each device comes with a flavour
Up to 600 puffs per pod (approx)
What’s in the Elfa Pro box?
Inside each box is the Elfa Pro vape kit (thank god), one pod to be used and a user manual which explains key product information and relevant safety warnings. Unfortunately the Elfa Pro doesn’t come with a USB C cable included which is required to recharge the device. This feels a cheap move from Elf Bar, but most new charging cables use this type of charging so it’s likely you have one lying around anyway.
Elf Bar Elfa Pro Flavour / Colour Combinations
There are 8 colour flavour variations currently. The kit colour corresponds to the flavour that it comes with. You get one pod per kit.

Elfa Pro Flavour Test
We of course taste tested the Elfa Pro kit, because it’s well known that flavour is one of the most important features of any vape kit, but particularly a pod system like this. It’s safe to say the Elf Pro does not disappoint. Anybody that has used the original Elfa will be incredibly impressed by how much better the flavour produced by the Elfa Pro is. The new coil technology means the pod is consistently flavourful throughout, and the throat hit is even smoother. This leads us to our next point, what is this new coil technology? People that aren’t nerds or don’t care, feel free to skip this bit…
What is Elf Bar QUAQ Coil Technology?
QUAQ coils are a new technology at the cutting edge of vaping right now. They operate differently to traditional mesh coils, by weaving a thinner mesh that concentrates the heat produced, in order to produce a better and more consistent flavour. The thin mesh lining also means more liquid is absorbed and used by the coil, leaving almost none behind. Mesh coils due to their multi layered weaving mean more surface area is covered, allowing the wick to spend more time in contact with the metal itself, this is how more liquid is consumed.
This technology in a regular vape kit would mean more e-liquid is used which would in turn mean you’re spending more money on liquids and refilling your device. Instead, Elf Bar have put this into a disposable kit where using all e-liquid is actually a huge benefit.
Design, Built Quality and Battery Life
Design
The design of the Elfa Pro is almost exactly the same as the original Elf Bar Elfa. In fact, the Elfa Pro is pretty much a carbon copy of an original disposable Elf Bar. The length and width is the same, with the only real difference being the fact you can detach the pod and a charging point on the bottom of the kit.
Build Quality
The Elfa Pro has a solid build quality and has a well-built feeling. To put it bluntly though, it won’t survive a fall from the Eiffel Tower, but it certainly feels as though it’ll survive the every day scraped and bumps endured by a clumsy persons vape kit. The mouth piece is solid and the pod sits in magnetically. I could see the magnets going after some time, but for a cheap kit this is hardly a big concern.
Battery Life
One thing that seems to have improved with the Elfa Pro is the battery life. You will definitely get all day vaping at least from the Elfa Pro. This is thanks to a built-in 500mAh battery, that is completely rechargeable. Over time, we would expect as with most cheaper end vape kits, the battery capacity to diminish. After 6 months it’s unlikely you’ll get the same performance, but certainly in the short term the battery life is really good with the Elfa Pro.
How to use the Elfa Pro?
Using the Elfa Pro couldn’t be simpler. It uses pods that simply pop in and pop out via a magnetic connection. These pods are pre-filled and can’t be refilled. When first using the kit or a new pod, simply peel off the sticker on the bottom and push the pod in until it clicks. This click will allow the liquid to soak the coil. Wait a couple of minutes and then begin vaping.
How long do the Elf Bar Elfa Pro pods last?
The Elfa Pro pods are advertised by them as 600 puffs. After some extensive testing, we found the Elfa Pro pods last around 450 puffs on average. This is significantly better than the original Elfa pods. It’s difficult to say exactly how many puffs you will get as this largely depends on how you vape and how long each puff is. This varies significantly from one vaper to another.
Pro’s and Con’s
Pro’s
Unrivalled flavour
Good battery life
Great design
Tastes like a disposable Elf Bar
Rechargeable
Compatible with original Elfa pods
Wide selection of flavours
Con’s
No charging cable included
Summary
Overall, the Elfa Pro is by far the best closed pod device with pre-filled pods available right now. It tastes even better than the original Elf Bar disposable thanks to the QUAQ coil technology. It doesn’t leak, is unbelievably easy to use and most importantly is about half the price of vaping disposabvles. The only real drawback is the fact it doesn’t come with a charging cable which can be annoying if you’re buying one for the first time and aren’t aware this is the case.
