Vape Coil Resistance: What Is Ohms?

Ohms is the unit of measurement that shows how much resistance a vape coil has.

The lower the ohms (E.g 0.2Ohms), the more electricity passes through, the hotter it will get, the more clouds it will produce, and the stronger the flavour. The best high ohm coils by Vaporesso are the Vaporesso GTI coils.

The higher the ohms (E.g 1.0Ohms), the lower the electrical current that passes through, giving you minimal clouds and a longer lasting coil. The best high ohm coils by Vaporesso are the Vaporesso GTX coils.

Vape Coil Resistance: What’s Best For Me?

It will depend on your preferred style of vaping!

If you like to use high nicotine nic salts such as the Elfliqs or Bar Juice, then you need a coil that’s got a resistance of 0.8Ohms and above. This also goes for any other liquid you want to use that is 50VG/50PG.

If you like using e-liquids that are 60VG/40PG or 70VG/30PG, then go for a coil that’s between 0.4ohms and 0.8ohms for the best results.

The VG/PG ratio can be found in the title of the product you’re looking at, or in the product description.

How To Make Your Vape Coils last Longer?

The most important thing is making sure that your coil is compatible with the vape liquid you’re using. So if you’re using a liquid with:

A 50VG/50PG ratio, use this with a coil that’s 0.8Ohms and above.

A 60VG/40PG or 70VG/30PGratio, use this with a coil that’s between 0.4ohms and 0.8ohms.

An 80VG+ ratio, use a coil that’s between 0.1Ohms and 0.4Ohms.

Lowering the wattage on your device will also help the coils last longer, and making sure that you allow the coil to cool down between vaping sessions will prevent early burnout.

How Long Do Vape Coils Last?

This depends on your coil resistance and the liquid you’re using. As a general rule, any coil that’s below 0.8Ohms will last a week, and anything that’s 0.8ohms and above can last twice as long.
