OXVA are back with a new and (maybe) improved version of the Xlim series, the Xlim C. After the Xlim SE was such a success, we must say that we were initially skeptical of a direct replacement, but we wanted to give it a fair chance and see how it performed all round.
OXVA Xlim C Key Features and Specifications
Weighing just 40g and standing at 11.45cm tall, the Xlim C is a small pocket sized device not much bigger than a disposable. Powered by a 900mAh built-in battery, the Xlim C has an output of up to 25W which is adjustable easily with the button placed on the front of the device. A button gives you the option of both button draw and auto draw and a locking feature with 4 clicks means the Xlim C won’t misfire in your pocket. Similar to all Xlim kits, the Xlim C has an adjustable airflow on the side of the device which allows you to rotate between mouth-to-lung (MTL) and restricted direct-to-lung (RDTL) vaping. The Xlim C utilises type-c charging which OXVA claim is complete in just 30 minutes.

OXVA Xlim C Build Design, Build Quality and Battery Life
Design
The OXVA Xlim C shares the design of its predecessor’s the Xlim SE and the Xlim V2. A small handheld device that is pocket and handbag friendly, lightweight and slim. On the front of the kit is a button that is used both to activate the vape, alternative between wattages and turn the device on and off. Also on the front is an LED indicator around the button that lets you know what wattage range you are using and lights up with the battery level when vaping. The charging port is found on the bottom of the kit which isn’t as good as having it on the side like some devices, but this is a minor issue. On the side of the device is the airflow adjuster which is used to switch between mouth-to-lung (MTL) and restricted direct-to-lung (RDTL) vaping styles.
The pod used is a similar shape and design as the older editions, using a replaceable coil this time instead of pre-installed. The mouthpiece on these pods is comfortable and allows for a good airflow.
Build Quality
The Xlim C is built solidly much like its predecessors. It looks and feels like older versions. Built from aluminium alloy (body) and PCTG (pod), it’s a very sturdy device. The metal finish means it doesn’t get too hot unlike some plastic devices. The pod is magnetic rather than clip in and this works well, you never feel that the pod is going to fall out. All round and to be expected, OXVA have built a kit that feels solid in the hand, it wouldn’t last if you dropped it from the Eiffel tower, but we’re certain it will hold up the usual knocks and scrapes.
Battery Life
Powered by a 900mAh battery, the Xlim C has one of the largest batteries found in a kit of it’s size. This of course begs the question, how good is the battery life? Well we comfortably achieved all day vaping from the Xlim C with one full charge. OXVA claim that a charge up to 80% will give you 2 days of vaping, but we didn’t find this to be the case. Despite this, the battery life is much better than competitor kits like the Uwell Caliburn series.
Recharging is easy and absolutely rapid with a type-c charging cable, recharging from 0-80% in just 30 minutes. We found a full charge takes around 50 minutes if the kit is completely dead.
The battery life is indicated on the LED light surrounding the button, with three different colours; red (<30%), blue (30-65%) and green (65-100%).
Flavour test
There can be no doubt that the most important thing for a vape kit, particularly a pod device like this, is it’s flavour production. With the rise of disposables and the incredible flavour they produce, pod devices need to be able to match this. Does the Xlim C do this? Yes, absolutely it does. The mesh coils that OXVA use are something of wizardry, they perfectly replicate that disposable flavour and the Xlim C is on par with the Xlim SE in this regard. We would recommend if you are trying to achieve that disposable flavour, to use a high quality juice like Elfliq (made by Elf Bar) or Bar Juice 5000 which both contain disposable flavours.
How long do the OXVA Xlim C coils last?
After around a while of testing, we found that the Xlim C coils can last between 7 and 22 days with the average being 13 days which is high for a pod device using Nic Salt e-liquid.
What type of person is the OXVA Xlim C kit for?
The OXVA Xlim C is perfectly suited to those switching from disposable vapes that want a hassle free vaping experience. Apart from changing the coils (which is easy in this kit), there isn’t too much to worry about. We’d therefore recommend it to beginner vapers and intermediate vapers who might want a smaller more convenient device.
Pro’s and Cons
Pro’s
Good battery life
Adjustable airflow
Great flavour production
Con’s
Replaceable coils (subjective)
Summary…
There can be no doubt that OXVA produce some of the best kits in the game when it comes to small pod devices. The Xlim C really is a great kit but I remain unconvinced it’s better than it’s predecessors. The replaceebale coil seems unecessary and I can’t see any upside to it. Although the Xlim C doesn’t leak and the coils last well, it does make it prone to these things. The flavour production is incredible, just like disposables with the right liquid. Battery life is strong and an adjustable airflow is of course welcomed. All round, this is an excellent kit for beginners.
