Elf Bars have taken the UK market by storm in the last 12 months, and rightly so. Elf bars offer a convenient and easy alternative when it comes to quitting smoking. It’s not just Elf Bars who have thrown their hat in the ring when it comes to disposables. Many brands such as Lost Mary, Dinner Lady and more recently Aspire releasing their very own disposable vape kit. It makes you think, why would we ever need to vape anything else apart from disposables? Here’s a few quick reasons why you should think about not vaping Elf Bars anymore:
Elf Bars are extremely wasteful – they cannot be recycled and therefore will go straight to landfill
Disposables are more expensive than vaping refillable kits
There are less flavours available in disposable form
It’s slightly more complicated that simply just buying a kit, as you’ll need to choose an equally good nic salt to go in the kit. Consider it a recipe, and we’re giving the perfect list of ingredients to replicate the flavours you’ll find in an Elf Bar disposable.
Why should I buy a refillable vape kit?
To answer your all important question quickly, it may be cheaper than you think. There’s a misconception that purchasing a refillable vape kit is going to cost you an arm and a leg. Luckily, this isn’t the case. We wish we could take all your lovely Elf Bar money off you forever, but even we know its not right for everyone to be vaping these all the time.
The above kits all provide fantastic flavour product, which is the first major part of producing optimum flavour from your vape kit. We’ll go into some more detail about each kit below.
OXVA Xlim SE V2
The OXVA is probably the best small pod kit on the market at the moment. It comes in at 25W (the W stands for Watts) which provides the perfect amount of power for a range of different vaping styles. The OXVA is also auto-draw, which means there is no fire button to activate the vape, exactly like the elf bar. A powerful 900mAh battery powers the Xlim, which provides more than enough charge for an all day vape kit. OXVA has also paired this with pods with preinstalled coils, which means there is no faffing about when the coil dies; you simply just change the old pod out for a new one! On the note of pods, the SE V2 mesh pods provide some of the best flavour we have ever experienced from a refillable kit. They almost never leak, and last between 1 week – 3 weeks which is pretty unheard of for pod coils!
Aspire Flexus Q Pod Kit
The Aspire Flexus Q is yet another fantastic pod kit with flawless flavour production. A 700mAh battery provides the kit with just enough battery for a days vaping. The inhale activation technology (fancy term for auto draw) provides a close comparison to that of an Elf Bar, making it a perfect option for those who have used disposables to quit smoking. The Flexus Q comes with 2 coils, a charging cable and a spare pod (aswell as the kit itself, duh).
Uwell Caliburn A3
The Uwell Caliburn A3 Pod Kit is Uwells latest edition to their ergonomic vape kit portfolio. Uwell have obviously taken on board the criticisms of the previous A2. They have put a strong focus on flavours, as well as reliability. Like its predecessor, the A3 is cos effective, lightweight and great flavour. All paired with the fact it’s super easy to use. At only £17.99 it’s very good value, and also comes with 2 spare pods so you’re set for a month as long as you grab a couple of nic salts.
Aspire R1 Refillable Disposable
We know what you’re thinking, how can a disposable be refillable? We thought the same, this is just a fancy marketing ploy so that people that like Elf Bars don’t sh*t themselves when they see the words “refillable”. The idea that it might be disposable too, provides a level of comfort as it’s familiar concept. But regardless of Aspire’s wording, the product is bloody awesome. Easy to use, enough charge to last you the day. There’s not much else to say. If you’re apprehensive about biting the bullet and buying an actual refillable kit the Aspire R1 is probably pretty perfect for you. It’s a stepping stone, and that means progress to saving money and the all important environment. We’ve got to look out for our great grandkids at some point, right?
Elf Bar Mate 500
The Elf Bar Mate is Elf Bars compromise to the wastage of all the original disposables. The Mate 500 is a pre-filled pod system, with each pod lasting around 500 puffs. This one is a bit of cheat, or possibly even a cop out to a proper vape kit but still provides a more sustainable option than just vaping regular Elf Bars. The main advantage to the Elf Bar mate is you’ll get the exact same flavours found in regular elf bars, in the pre-filled pods. Its cheaper too, so it’s a win win?
Aspire R1 Refillable Disposable
Aspire have made it in twice to our shortlist with this cheeky entry. It’s not a proper vape kit, but it’s a stepping stone. If getting a “real” refillable vape kit all seems a bit too confusing at the moment, go for the R1. It comes with a bottle of nic salt and will last up to 3500 puffs. Although you have to throw it out after this, it’s way better than 5 or 6 disposables. PS, its better for your wallet too!
Hopefully by this point you’ve managed to compare which vape kit might be the best for you. At this point, you now need to choose the right Nic salt for you. We’re going to assume you vape a 20mg Elf bar, but if not there are lower nicotine alternatives to these ranges. Just ask our helpful team on live chat!
That’s all we need to do for the nic salts. These really are the best in the game, and will provide you with same flavour as your beloved Elf Bar. There’s plenty of flavours in there for all you fussy vapers. So go on, what you waiting for? Go and save yourself some money and do something good for the planet.
We are so confident in our choices above we have even created a page specifically for people looking for kits / liquids that will compare to a disposable, you can check this out here.
